Epiphone Masterbilt AJ-500RE Sitka/Rosewood Advanced Jumbo with Manzer-style body wedge
-SOLD-

Buyer responds: Perfect! Got here at 5PM, couldn't put it down, played until ~ midnight! I love this guitar! It is exactly what I hoped it would be! Kudos to your luthier!

This guitar came into the shop as a brand new guitar with a damaged back. Since the back had to be replaced we thought it would be a fine opportunity to install a wedge-shaped body in the style made famous by luthier Linda Manzer. This body shape (with 1" taper) makes this slope-shouldered Jumbo-sized drednought feel like a much smaller guitar.

After installing the wedge body, a hand-rubbed shellac finish was applied to match the guitar's original satin finish. We then had our luthier perform a full pro setup: nut slots were filed down to a comfortable level, the two-way truss rod was adjusted to dial in just the right amount of neck relief, frets were checked to make sure they are even and level, and the saddle was lowered to give great low action with no buzzing (action is set to 7/64ths at the 12th fret of the 6th string). There is plenty of saddle left to take the action lower if desired. A thin satin finished neck with a 'C' profile, 25.5" scale, and 1-11/16" width nut combine with the wedge body and setup to make this a great strummer's guitar and a dream to play.

This guitar comes equipped with dual-source electronics: a magnetic pickup above the soundhole and a transducer pickup under the saddle. The two can be mixed and matched via the onboard preamp to produce a versatile array of tones. In addition, an onboard tuner is included.
