Baritone guitars are usually tuned down between 2 and 3 whole steps from standard guitar tuning. These instruments with their longer scale length and heavier gauge strings provide a unique and powerfully voiced bass for the guitar player looking to increase his arsenal of musical tools. We offer two scale lengths designed to accommodate different tunings: a 27" scale for C to C tuning and a 28.5" scale for B to B tuning. Both are priced very affordably and come with a hardshell case. Priced well below half of any other manufacturer's current baritone offerings, we think this guitar provides serious value for the working musician looking to expand his or her tonal palette.

Based on an imported 12 fret 000 design, the Shabby Chic baritone starts life as an OM sized guitar whose upper bout was stretched to meet the neck at the 12th fret. The resulting guitar has more airspace and increased volume than an OM, giving it an almost drednought-like bass response in a smaller, more comfortable package. Either one or two frets' worth of neck is added to the guitar giving the baritone its 27" or 28.5" scale length and either 13 or 14 frets to the body. To save weight at the headstock a slot-head design is incorporated, making the guitar less top heavy than most baritones. The neck has a shellac finish hand rubbed to a silky smooth satin sheen. A 1-3/4" wide neck at the nut with a 'C' profile makes this guitar suitable for fingerstyle and flatpicking players alike.
