12 string Drednought with Solid spruce top and Ryan-style armrest bevel: Sold

Every guitarist needs a 12 string, and we think every 12 string guitar should have a nice armrest bevel. We feel like we're doing our part by offering this Mitchell model # MD-100S-12 (see Musician's Friend for details). We scored this guitar locally from someone who decided he wasn't going to be the next Leo Kottke. It was in excellent condition with very little fret wear but still needed a few tweaks to be its best. The top is especially nice; it is tight grained with a lot of silking.

To get this guitar in shape first we took the nut slots down to where they needed to be, adjusted the truss rod for optimum relief, then adjusted the saddle to give low action of 6/64ths at the 12th fret of the big E string. A check of the neck relief showed it was spot on. Finally, we carved in a Ryan-style armrest bevel and capped it with a beautiful maple veneer. With a new set of D'Addario phosphor bronze light gauge strings this guitar really sings!
